Sinusitis – Are You Tired and Ache All Over? – It Could Be a Sinus Infection! – Nurse’s Guide

If you have a lot of aches and pains and feel unusually tired lately you may not have considered it could be caused by a sinus problem or an acute sinus infection. A sinus infection could be slowly brewing and you may not have been aware of it. It could sneak up on you or you may not recognize the signs.

Acute sinus infections and chromic sinus infections can wreak havoc in your body. They are systemic and can affect your whole body in various ways. You may notice in particular pain in your shoulders, neck and/or hips. You may be aware of some pain in your cheeks, or one or both sides of your face, forehead or even have had sinus headaches and not made the connection.

Fatigue can also accompany a sinus infection or sinusitis. You can feel tired or unusually tired as your body fights the sinus infection. You can just feel tired all over and not ever even think about a sinus infection as being the culprit.

So sinusitis and sinus infections are something to think about as a cause of your tiredness, fatigue or aches and pains or generalized aches. They can be viral, bacterial or fungal although fungal are the most common.
