Protect the man and the environment from a dangerous pesticide
Vienna (OTS) – After the FPÖ President Norbert Hofer declared Saturday in the repository that he had announced his approval three weeks ago for a total ban on glyphosate, "the organization does not have a glyphosate. has not yet decided, "the Austrian environmental organization GLOBAL 2000 calls on Hofer to allow the excretion of glyphosate. This is what the Austrian population expects, especially the more than 50,000 people who participated in the European citizens' initiative "Stop Glyphosat", co-initiated by GLOBAL 2000.
Dear Norbert Hofer!
Do not let the ÖVP put you in the mood! Make sure your party respects its word and allows the total ban of glyphosate. The "lighter version" of the ÖVP is a sham, as it excludes agriculture. But as you know, the use of glyphosate in agriculture is the leading cause of glyphosate contamination in water, soil, food, and food. in the human body.
You are aware of the resulting dangers to health and the environment. That's what you clarified in Parliament. Similarly, you know that only a total ban can reduce these charges. Therefore, the decision should be easy for you on Tuesday.
However, if the argument of the ÖVP concerns "the illegality" of a total ban, we recall that the "legal opinion" underlying was ordered by the & # 39; 39; ÖVP itself and that it has since been concealed. We believe that legal advice that is less transparent than Monsanto's glyphosate secret studies is fundamentally problematic. These secret opinions should therefore not play a major role in important political decisions. Especially since, in this particular case, the reality seems to refute the alleged illegality of a total ban. For France, nothing in 2016, the only controversial insecticide Chlorpyrifos has been removed from the market. In September 2018, the ban on all neonicotinoid-type pesticides followed. France has declared that it "leads more than ever the ban on plant protection products harmful to bees".
Dear Mr. Hofer,
Tomorrow, the FPÖ and its parliamentary club will be able to ensure that Austria leads the way in the ban on herbicides containing glyphosate. Please take this responsibility! People deserve it.
