On the occasion of the 15 June Road Safety Day, the "kommmitmensch" prevention campaign for compulsory accident insurance calls for a greater emphasis on safety on the roads. With reasons that represent unethical behavior, employers' liability insurance and accident insurance associations want to attract attention. For example, mandatory accident insurance providers want companies and their employees to talk about their own safety issues. Especially in social media will appear grounds that dangerous situations – "stupid ideas" – show. On www.kommmitmensch.de, companies and interested persons are informed where to start, to reduce the risk of accidents for their employees.

Road accidents at work often result in serious injury or death. This is the result of a study of the association of professional associations and accident funds, the German accident insurance (DGUV). After accidents on road vehicles, two-fifths of deaths and one-fifth of new pension cases were the subject of an investigation. In particular, there were 343 accident deaths and 2,456 new accident benefits in 2017.

"Serious accidents are always a sign that safety and health at work do not have the status they deserve in the society they deserve," said Gregor Doepke, Communications Manager at the DGUV. "The purpose of our campaign is to change that.We have consciously put" stupid ideas "- ie offensive behavior – at the center of our communication, and we expect a surprise effect that causes us to think to our own health and safety relationships, and at the same time we call on employees and leaders to do better and to provide advice. " or "Do we consider security breaches as minor offenses?" Many companies do not find enough time in their daily work. It's not only a mistake of prevention, but also of business management, says Doepke: "In most cases, this conversation brings concrete improvements to our own operations and it is scientifically proven that investments in safety and health have a positive effect on the operating result. "

Road safety is also one of the topics that companies, apprentices and filmmakers can use to participate in the current campaign contest.
